Account & Data Deletion

1. Overview

Users of TalentStudent.in can request deletion of their account and associated personal data. This page explains how to request deletion and what we do when we receive a valid request.

This information also supports users who registered or signed in with third-party login providers (for example Google or Facebook) and need a clear data-deletion path for platform and provider-related data.

2. How to request deletion

To request account and data deletion:

• Email us at info@talentstudent.in, or use the Contact Us page.
• Use the email address registered with your TalentStudent.in account (or the email used for Google / Facebook login).
• Write a clear subject such as: Account and data deletion request.
• Include: your full name (if known), role if any (Student / Teacher / Principal / Owner / Public voter), institution name if linked, and confirmation that you want the account deleted.

Where the product offers an in-dashboard Delete My Account option for eligible roles, you may use that as well. Email requests are always accepted.

3. What we delete

After we verify the request, we process deletion of applicable personal information associated with the account, which may include:

• Account profile details (name, email, phone where stored, profile photo, about text).
• Login-related identifiers stored by TalentStudent.in for your user account.
• Role and school-link metadata for that user, where no longer required.

Competition entries, certificates, votes and similar records may be anonymised or retained in limited form where needed for the integrity of past competitions, rankings, certificates already issued, billing, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

4. What we may retain

We may retain certain information when we are legally required or have a legitimate need to do so, for example:

• Tax, payment and invoice records (including GST-related records).
• Records needed to resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or comply with law enforcement requests.
• Aggregated or anonymised statistics that no longer identify you.
• Backup copies for a limited period until they are overwritten in the normal backup cycle.

5. Facebook / Google login users

If you registered or logged in using Facebook or Google:

• You may request deletion of the TalentStudent.in account and the Facebook- or Google-related data stored by TalentStudent.in (for example linked user ID and profile fields we received at login).
• Deleting your TalentStudent.in account does not automatically delete your Facebook or Google account. To remove TalentStudent.in from your Facebook or Google connected apps, use the settings on Facebook / Google as well.
• Facebook users can also manage app permissions under Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites.

6. Institution / school accounts

If you are a School Owner (institution account), deletion may require extra steps so that students, staff and competition data are not left without an administrator. Contact info@talentstudent.in so we can handle transfer or closure safely. Self-delete may be restricted until Super Admin completes a transfer or closure process.

7. Timing

We aim to acknowledge genuine requests within a reasonable time and to complete deletion of applicable personal data within a practical period after verification (typically within 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law or technical constraints such as backups).
