1. Overview
Users of TalentStudent.in may request deletion of their account and associated personal data, subject to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, other applicable laws, and legitimate retention needs (for example tax invoices or security logs).
This page also helps users who signed in with Google or Facebook understand how to request deletion of TalentStudent.in account data linked to those logins.
2. Self-service options
- Students, Teachers, Principals: where enabled, use Delete My Account on your dashboard / profile after login.
- Institution Owners: deleting an Owner account that still controls an active institution may require Super Admin assistance so that school data is transferred or closed properly.
- Public voters (Subscriber): email us from the same address used to vote/login.
3. How to request by email
- Send an email to info@talentstudent.in.
- Subject: Account and data deletion request.
- Include: full name, registered email, role (Student / Teacher / Principal / Owner / Judge / Voter), and institution name if any.
- State whether you also want related competition display name/photos removed where technically feasible.
We may verify your identity before acting on the request.
4. What we delete or restrict
After verification, we process deletion or anonymisation of applicable personal data, which may include account profile fields, login credentials, and internal staff links to your user ID.
What may remain (examples):
- Competition entries already shown in public contests, ranks or certificates — may be anonymised rather than removed from historical results, depending on technical and fairness needs.
- Payment / GST invoice records required under tax or accounting law.
- Limited security or approval logs for dispute and fraud prevention.
- Backups for a short residual period before expiry.
5. Google / Facebook login
Deleting your TalentStudent.in account does not automatically delete your Google or Facebook account. You may also remove app access from your Google/Facebook security settings. To request deletion of Facebook-related data held by our Platform, email us from the address linked to that login.
6. Timeline
We aim to complete verified deletion requests within a reasonable period and to respond within grievance timelines described in our Privacy Policy (including any applicable outer limit under the DPDP Rules).
