TalentStudent.in (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an online platform that helps educational institutions (Playway, School, College, Institute, University, Academy, Centre) and students organise and join talent competitions, manage staff and students, voting, rankings and certificates.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the website you agree to this Policy together with our Terms & Conditions.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect:

• Account data: name, email address, password (stored securely/hashed), role (e.g. Owner, Principal, Teacher, Student, Competition Judge, public voter).
• Institution data: institution name, type, address, state, city, PIN, contact details, profile text, logos, cover and gallery images, facilities and related profile fields.
• Student / staff data: class, section, school link, competition entries (including uploaded photos), ranks and certificates metadata.
• Competition & voting data: joins, votes, scores, timestamps, and related approval status.
• Payment-related data: plan or entry-fee requests, amounts, GST breakdown where shown, UTR/reference and screenshots you upload for manual verification. We do not store full card numbers on our servers for automated card checkout (payments are handled as described on the Payment page).
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and approximate logs needed for security and operations.
• Communications: messages you send via contact forms or email to us.

3. How we use information

• To create and manage accounts, approvals and dashboards.
• To run competitions, entries, voting, rankings and certificates.
• To show institution profiles and competition pages as configured by users.
• To process plan and entry-fee requests and send related emails.
• To improve security, prevent abuse, spam and fraud.
• To comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.
• To communicate service notices (registration, approval, payment, competition updates).

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their independent marketing.

4. Legal basis & children

The platform is designed for use by educational organisations and their authorised staff, and by students under the supervision of their institution and guardians as applicable.

Institution accounts are responsible for obtaining any consent required under school policy or law before uploading student data or photos. Parents/guardians should contact the institution first for student-related corrections; they may also contact us at the email below for platform-level requests.

5. Sharing of information

We may share information only as needed:

• Within the institution: Owners, Principals, Teachers and assigned Judges see data required for their role (e.g. pending students, entries).
• Public pages: Content you choose to publish (e.g. school profile, competition entries set to public voting) may be visible to visitors.
• Service providers: Hosting, email delivery and security tools that process data on our instructions.
• Legal: When required by law, regulation or valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety and integrity of the service.

6. Cookies & similar technologies

7. Data retention

We retain account and competition data while your account or institution remains active and for a reasonable period afterwards for audits, dispute resolution, certificates history and legal compliance. You may request deletion subject to our Terms and residual backup/legal needs.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (including access controls and hashed passwords). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use strong passwords and protect your login.

9. Your choices

• Update profile and institution information from your dashboard where available.
• Request correction or deletion of personal data by emailing us from your registered address.
• Self-delete options may be available for certain roles as described in the product; institution Owners may have additional transfer rules before closure.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Policy.
